The Celestron NexStar GT and Orion StarSeeker telescopes come equipped with full-featured mountings that deliver automated Go To capability, all at an unbelievably low price. While the included optical tubes provide entry-level capabilities, the mounts themselves are surprisingly solid and offer the possibility of Go To for just about any small telescope.

Baader Planetarium, recognizing the untapped potential of these mountings, has begun producing a novel adapter that converts the GT mounts into full featured Go To platforms. A dovetail receiver bracket mounts to the altitude axis in place of the stock plastic tube clamp. The sliding dovetail bar is designed to easily couple to a telescope’s tube rings or mounting block, and securely attaches to the receiver with a single large locking knob.
