LX90 GPS 12'' ACF UHTC (305MM)
The new LX90 GPS UHTC features a fully-integrated Sony GPS sensor, the same unit as those in the LX200R and RCX400. The LX90 GPS uses its Sony GPS sensor to determine the precise date, time and location. Meade’s new AutoAlign then uses this info together with its patented Level-North Technology to align the scope for a tour of the most spectacular sights in the universe. With all the features of the legendary LX90 Schmidt-Cassegrain plus the ability to communicate with satellites, the new LX90 GPS now has it all. When it comes to industry-leading American-made optics, depth of features, and value for the dollar, the LX90 GPS UHTC is the best Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope you can find that can find itself.
Special features of the LX90 GPS UHTC include:
• A fully-integrated Sony GPS sensor
• A die-cast-aluminum double-tine fork mount that rigidly supports the optical tube in all sky orientations
• Worm gears of 4.9"-diameter on both telescope axes that permit smooth sidereal-rate tracking of celestial objects as well as precise guiding corrections during long-exposure imaging
• A chromed-steel variable-height tripod that provides all the rigidity required in sensitive field applications - in fact, the same tripod as provided with the Meade 8" LX200GPS.
• UHTC special coatings.
The LX90 GPS is powered at 12 volts DC from (user-supplied) C-cell batteries loaded through the upper surface of the telescope's drive base. The telescope may also be powered from an automobile cigarette lighter plug or from standard 115vAC home outlets, using optionally available power cords.
Autostar Computer Controller
The LX90 GPS' standard-equipment Autostar controller connects to the telescope's control panel and permits an incredible array of telescope options:
Automatic GO TO capability at 6.5°/sec on both axes, simultaneously, to 30,223 database objects.
Automatic GO TO capability to any object of known RA and Declination.
Nine selectable slew speeds: 6.5°/sec, 3°/sec, and 1.5°/sec, plus 128x, 64x, 16x, 8x, 2x, and 1x sidereal.
12" Schmidt-Cassegrain Design, 3048mm Focal Length (F/10), integrated Sony GPS sensor, 8x50 Viewfinder, Electronic Magnetic North Sensor, High Precision Internal Clock, Oversided Primary Mirror, Autostar handbox with over
30 000 object library, Smart Drive, Standard Field Tripod, AutoStar Suite Software, 1.25" Diagonal Prism. UTHC coatings.
